European inspiring practices on ECI
The sharing of information and transfer of knowledge is crucial in ensuring the building of holistic and capable ECI systems. As a result, we have compiled a document with inspiring practices from outside Greece. The goal of this reference document is to inspire organisations in establishing family-centred ECI processes and to provide advice on how to apply these practices within the Greek context.
The practices are selected based on several criteria including:
- Recognise the central role the family plays in a child’s life. All families are encouraged to be included and contribute to their child’s learning and development.
- Be inclusion focused. The practice promotes the engagement of all children, regardless of their needs, in all aspects of life. Therefore, it fosters learning in natural environments such as daily routines, at home, and in the community.
- Adopt evidence and outcome-based approaches. Early childhood intervention professionals provide services that are grounded in research and clinical reasoning.
- Include well trained professionals from various disciplines and different backgrounds as to meet the diverse needs of targeted children and ensure quality teamwork.
Contact details for each of the selected organisations can be found within the report.
